Games like this change everything.
Braid is at the sharp edge of the "games as art" discourse. Its simple but brilliant time mechanics are a good hook for puzzlers, but its the deep, cryptic story that makes this game such an amazing accomplishment. Hard to decipher, sure, but so worth it. Like a Vonnegut or Cormac McCarthy novel that the player interacts with, literally playing the metaphor. And if complex allegory isnt your thing, its still a rad game to wrap your brain around.
